Welcome to San Ramon

San Ramon

San Ramon is located in the Eastern San Francisco Bay Area’s Contra Costa County. Highlighted by Mount Diablo to the north and east, this quiet, close-knit suburban city holds strong to its historic, village vibe. Suburban neighborhoods carefully nestled within rolling hillsides are a nod to the environmentally-minded growth spearheaded by the City Council and highlight scenic unincorporated county lands at its northeast and west boundaries.

Although family-friendly, safe, tranquil residential spaces are a top feature of San Ramon, an additional highlight is its Bishop Ranch business center. Bishop Ranch, a five hundred eighty-five-acre premier office development, provides not only a healthy tax base for San Ramon but also ample employment opportunities. Covering a large square of central San Ramon – bordered by I-680 in the West, Crow Canyon Road to the North, Iron Horse Trail to the East, and Bollinger Canyon Road to the North – this word-class business park’s tenants include Chevron Corporation, AT&T, Inc., United Parcel Service, Toyota, and GE Global Research.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

In 2018 San Ramon’s vision for an animated civic center, anchored by restaurants, retail, and entertainment spaces came to fruition when the first phase of its City Center Bishop Ranch was completed. Bordered by the I-680 highway to the west, and Bollinger Canyon Road to the South, this well-appointed space features a luxury movie theater, as well as popular retail shops: Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, and West Elm, Madewell, and Anthropoligie. Expertly curated boutiques such as M by Maggie Rizer feature high-end fashion designers as well as luxury housewares are represented as well.

A broad array of upscale and casual eateries can be enjoyed at City Center Bishop Ranch. Berkeley founded Fieldworks Craft Brewing Company prides itself on serving the finest craft beers, while The Slanted Door – sister restaurant to its award-winning San Francisco location – serves stunning Vietnamese flavors enhanced by fresh local ingredients, warm hospitality and French wine.

Coffee and sweet treats are served at Starbucks as well as small, locally owned businesses such as: Boba Guys Tea Shop, Joe & The Juice, and GIO Gelati.

Although new, City Center Bishop Ranch is making quick work of establishing community traditions. Winter holidays bring an annual tree-lighting ceremony, as well as the opening of the Kristi Yamaguchi Holiday Ice Rink. The Weekly Farmer’s Market is held year-round on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm, and proudly serves as a direct outlet for small and micro farmers to sell their produce, flowers, arts and crafts directly to consumers. A Second Market, on Thursdays from 10am – 2pm, runs seasonally from April through November.

Additional stores, restaurants, and a gym are slated to follow.
